I’M AK PHOTOGRAPHY

My name is Alyssa Kalen, and I am a communications professional and photographer based in Hilton, New York. I graduated from SUNY Brockport in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Broadcasting and a minor in Communication.

 

Through my academic and professional experience, I have developed strong skills in digital media production and visual storytelling, including Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. My background blends creative visual work with strategic communication and marketing.

 

In Fall 2022, I accepted a position at the University of Rochester as the Communication Specialist for Otolaryngology, where I support marketing initiatives, social media management, and photography of faculty and department events, contributing to both internal and external communications.

 

In March 2022, I launched AK Photography, a growing photography business rooted in a lifelong passion for animals. I grew up riding horses from the age of four and have always loved capturing them through photography. When I first launched my business, I specialized in black background equine portraits, which quickly gained attention and allowed the business to take off. Since then, AK Photography has expanded to offer a wide range of sessions, including senior portraits, engagement photos, animal portraits, black background sessions, special events, and more. The business continues to grow every day as I expand my services and creative reach.
